Volvo earns nine Top Safety Pick+ awards in 2021
February 26 2021,
The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has just handed out 9 Top Safety Pick+ awards to new Volvo vehicles, the most of any automaker in the industry. Volvo has once again proven that it continues to set the benchmark when it comes to automotive safety.
The IIHS gives the Top Safety Pick+ to those few vehicles who receive the highest grade in the moderate overlap front, driver-side small overlap front, passenger-side small overlap front, side, roof strength and head restraint tests. To be eligible for the IIHS’ top safety designation, a vehicle must also receive high marks for its headlights and active safety systems.
Volvo continues to stand out by offering more standard driver assistance technologies that can detect and prevent collisions not only with other vehicles, but pedestrians, cyclists, and large animals as well.
“Safety has been the core of our business since 1927 and we always appreciate when prestigious third-party organizations recognize that,” said Anders Gustafsson, President and CEO of Volvo Car USA.
The following models received the Top Safety Pick+ award from the IIHS:
