Volvo Canada Unveils Pricing for 2025 EX30: A Comprehensive Look at the New Fully Electric SUV

Volvo Canada has revealed the pricing details for its latest addition to the electric vehicle market, the EX30, a small premium fully electric SUV. Initially showcased in Milan earlier this year, the EX30 marks the fourth electric model in Volvo's growing lineup.

Pricing and Packages

The starting Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) for the EX30 is set at $53,700, positioning the vehicle competitively against its internal combustion counterparts. In terms of packages, the EX30 offers various levels: Core, Plus, and Ultra, with the Core starting at the aforementioned $53,700. For those looking for more features, the Plus package starts at $56,900, while the Ultra will set buyers back $59,100. Additionally, a Twin Motor Performance variant is available, priced at $59,900 for the Plus package and $62,100 for the Ultra.

Aesthetic Choices

Potential owners have the option to customize their EX30 with a palette of five exterior colors: Moss Yellow, Cloud Blue, Vapour Grey, Crystal White, and Onyx Black. On the interior, the vehicle presents four unique design themes—Mist, Pine, Indigo, and Breeze—complemented by five ambient lighting options inspired by Swedish landscapes.

Interior and Features

Inside the cabin, the EX30 showcases minimalistic Scandinavian design, featuring a combination of natural and recycled leather-free materials. Standard features include Google built-in, with native Google Maps and Google Assistant support, as well as wireless Apple CarPlay. The SUV also comes with an assortment of advanced safety features, such as a Driver Alert System with Blind Spot Information System (BLIS), Door Opening Alert, and Front & Rear Collision mitigation.

For those who opt for the Plus package, additional perks include Harman Kardon Premium Sound, a panoramic roof, 19-inch wheels, and a dual-tone roof in Onyx Black. The Ultra package level adds next-gen Pilot Assist with Lane Change Assistance, a 360-degree camera with 3D view, and Park Pilot Assist.

Safety and Sustainability

Safety is paramount for Volvo, and the EX30 is no exception. The SUV is engineered with both the safety of the passengers and pedestrians in mind. In addition, the EX30 aims to have the lowest CO2 footprint among Volvo's offerings, aligning with the company's goal to go fully electric by 2030 and achieve carbon neutrality by 2040.

Powertrain Options and Availability

Buyers can choose between two electric powertrains, promising flexibility for various driving needs. The EX30 boasts an EPA-estimated electric range of up to 442 kilometers, particularly for the Single Motor Extended Range variant. Canadians can expect to configure and reserve their EX30 this fall, with deliveries commencing next summer.

In summary, Volvo Canada's EX30 offers a comprehensive suite of features and customization options, set at a competitive price point. It is a noteworthy addition to Volvo's expanding electric vehicle lineup and will likely attract consumers looking for an environmentally conscious yet premium driving experience.
