Key Differences Between the New Volvo V60 Recharge and the Previous Model

The Volvo V60 has a lot to offer. It delivers the driving dynamics of a quick and sporty sedan, along with the capabilities and practicality of an SUV, without the bulky looks. Thanks to its unique Scandinavian styling cues inside and out, the V60 is very exclusive in its segment.

Drivers who opt for the V60 Recharge benefit from the best balance between power and efficiency. Volvo has improved this plug-in hybrid powertrain this year with more power, increased efficiency and improved driveability.

Here’s an overview of the differences between the new Volvo V60 Recharge and the previous model.

Increased power and dynamics in the 2022 Volvo V60 Recharge

The T8 plug-in powertrain under the hood of 2022 Volvo V60 Recharge gets key enhancements this year. It is now paired with a more powerful rear electric motor that delivers 143 hp compared. This is a 65% increase in power compared to the outgoing unit, which was rated at 87 hp.

This new motor bumps up the total combined output rating of the 2022 Volvo V60 Recharge to 455 horsepower – which is an unprecedented amount of power for a Volvo!

Not only does this motor make the V60 Recharge more powerful, it also makes it agile on all types of roads by increasing all-wheel drive capability at low speeds, when towing, or when driving on curvy roads or slippery surfaces.

The V60 Recharge also gets a new long-range battery, which bumps up the energy from 11.6 kWh to 18.8 kWh.

More technologies, increased range in the 2022 Volvo V60 Recharge

This new, three-layer 18.8 kWh battery enables the 2022 Volvo V60 Recharge to drive for a full 64 kilometres without using a single drop of fuel. This is an 83% increase in range when compared to the outgoing model, which was rated at 35 kilometres.

Drivers can also pre-heat or pre-cool the cabin remotely via the Volvo Cars app, even when the car is not plugged in.

The 2022 Volvo V60 Recharge will also be available with the one-pedal drive feature to control acceleration and deceleration using only the accelerator pedal.
