A look at the new Volvo XC90 Recharge
July 19 2022,
The Volvo XC90 Recharge was one of the first plug-in hybrid premium three-row SUVs on the market and for 2023, it receives improvements that will help it remain one of the leaders of this segment.
More power and more range
The 2023 Volvo XC90 Recharge benefits from major improvements to its mechanical components. For starters, the 11,6 kWh battery has been replaced with an 18,8 kWh unit that is able to send more power to the electric motors and allow for an increased fully electric range. This means that in addition to being more powerful than ever with 462 horsepower on tap, the 2023 Volvo XC90 Recharge is also more efficient than before due to its electric range that now reaches 58 kilometres. This means that most drivers will be able to complete their daily commute without using the gasoline engine even if they can’t charge the battery while at work.
More technologies
The 2023 Volvo XC90 comes with more standard and available technologies that make for more pleasant and safer drives. These technologies include the Google-based infotainment system that is being rolled out to every Volvo model. This system is compatible with Google Home devices and it can be controlled via natural voice commands that can also be used to obtain the answer to any question from the Google Assistant. In addition to this, the XC90 Recharge is equipped with all of the latest safety technologies, many of which have been developed by Volvo, such as the forward collision warning system with pedestrian detection or the available integrated child booster seats.
The same acclaimed design
The Volvo XC90 revolutionized the brand’s design language when it was launched back in 2015 and despite having received only minor changes since then, this design still makes the 2023 XC90 Recharge look modern and elegant. In addition, the XC90 Recharge is easily recognizable as a Volvo due to a number of identifying features that are shared with other models. This is a testament to the original design and it means that the XC90 Recharge will not fall out of fashion and look outdated in only a few years, as bolder designs tend to do.
