3 Ways in Which the 2022 Volvo S60 Improves this year
May 10 2022,
The 2022 Volvo S60 receives a few changes that make it remain one of the most attractive entries in the premium compact sedan market this year. Here are three of those changes.
Every version is electrified
The 2022 Volvo S60 is available with a choice of three different hybrid powertrains. The entry-level B5 engine is a 2.0L turbocharged engine paired with a 48-volt mild hybrid system that delvers 247 horsepower and is capable of achieving fuel consumption figures of only 6.7L / 100 km on the highway. For more power and an even more impressive efficiency, the T8 Recharge powertrain, which is a plug-in system, is available. This powertrain uses a larger battery and two electric motors in addition to a supercharged and turbocharged version of the same 2.0L engine in order to offer 400 horsepower and an electric range of up to 66 kilometers.
A few new styling touches
The 2022 Volvo S60 benefits from a couple of changes to its exterior appearance that make it stand out even more from the other compact premium sedans. These changes include a reworked version of the distinctive LED taillamps that make the S60 instantly recognisable from the rear, as well as new square tailpipes on the B5 Inscription model which highlight this powertrain’s new electric assistance.
A number of smaller changes
The 2022 Volvo S60 also undergoes a couple of more minor changes, such as the addition of a standard wireless phone charger on the Inscription, R-Design and Polestar Engineered trim levels, as well as the inclusion of a new air purifying system in the available Advanced package. In order to become more sustainable, Volvo has also removed the leather Key fob option and replaced the leather on the steering wheel with a vegan material. New wheel designs and new paint colours round out the changes for this year.
