2021 Volvo V60 Cross Country vs. 2021 Audi A4 allroad: Volvo Focuses on Versatility

2021 Volvo V60 Cross Country vs. 2021 Audi A4 allroad: Volvo Focuses on Versatility

When you want an outstanding luxury vehicle for many paths, but don't need the bulk of an SUV or the limitations of a sedan, then the V60 Cross Country creates an opportunity for new adventures. Evolved from the V60 wagon, the Cross Country features a taller ride height, rugged body cladding, advanced AWD, outstanding safety and more that you expect from Volvo.

The V60 CC isn't alone in its segment. Competitors are attempting to mimic this outstanding piece of craftsmanship. To help with your purchasing decision, we compare it to the 2021 Audi A4 allroad.

The 2021 Volvo V60 Cross Country has a powertrain that's just right

Each V60 CC includes a 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder that generates 250 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. This nimble powertrain provides great accelerations and response in the city and on the highway. Although the A4 produces slightly more horsepower and torque, the V60 CC has an eight-speed transmission over the allroad's seven-speed. That becomes quite helpful over time in promoting efficient operation and provides the CC an edge over the allroad in city fuel consumption.

The Volvo V60 Cross Country really shines in versatility

When compared side-by-side, the V60 CC and allroad have their differences. Both have wagon-like roots, but it all comes down how well their designs promote versatility. The V60 CC's exterior does not have a sloping rear area like the allroad, so it offers sensible cargo volume throughout the length of the vehicle.

The V60 CC includes 1,441 litres of cargo volume to pack in camping gear, luggage, skis, pets, and much more (rear seats folded). When the rear seats are up, it offers a generous 695 litres of volume behind them, and the roof doesn't slope like the allroad’s.

The V60 CC also features 1,074 mm of front leg room, which bests the allroad. You will also enjoy 1,425 mm of front shoulder room, making trips of any length a relaxing venture. The V60 CC also provides a more refined Scandinavian setting with a much more intuitive infotainment system.
